The Euro is trading at 1.2413 at present. The low has been 1.2394 while the high has been 1.2441. The US Dollar continues to push for gains despite no economic data out of Europe today. The US markets are on holiday observing Veterans Day today. Support for the Euro comes in around 1.2390 and further down at 1.2350. Resistance is seen around 1.2450 in the near term. Markets are likely to remain range bound today due to lack of players and information to drive the markets.
The British Pound is trading at 1.5865 currently. The low has been 1.5834 while the high has been 1.5873. The Pound remains in a contained range today as a result of no economic data forecast for release out of the UK. In addition, the US market is off observing the Veterans Day national holiday. The US Dollar seems to be pressing for gains despite this thin market. Short-term support is around 1.5830 then on to 1.5800. Short-term resistance is around the 1.5880 level.
The Japanese Yen is trading at 115.92 at the moment. The USD/JPY low has been 114.63 while the high has been 116.09. The USD/JPY has had a noticeable range today. Economic data released in Japan during the Asian session has contributed to the width of this range. The adjusted Current Account registered 0.41 trillion Yen which was better than expected. Next came year on year Bank Lending which revealed 2.4% which was a slight improvement on expectations. Later in the Asian session saw the release of Japanese Consumer Confidence which registered 38.9 and was below expectations. The Japanese Economy Watchers Sentiment was below expectations as well with a 44.0 number. The last data point was the Preliminary Machine Tools Orders which were 31.2% but still less than the previous month?s number. These underperforming numbers helped push the US Dollar higher and it has remained at the upper end of the day?s range since.
AUD/USD is trading at 0.8637 with the low being 0.8590 while the high has been 0.8651.
USD/CAD is trading at 1.1382 with the low being 1.1367 while the high has been 1.1401.
